Wang Lu Xiang (王鲁湘 in Chinese character, male, born 1956), is a Chinese nationally renowned scholar, art critic, and television documentary producer. He received his Bachelor of Art in literature from the University of Xiang Tan (1978–1982) and held a teaching position in the department of Chinese literature of the same university from 1982 to 1984. Soon he went on to obtain a MPhil in Philosophy at Beijing University in 1987. He taught literature at the Capital Normal University from 1987 to 1992 and did free-lancing writing jobs from 1992 to 2001. In 2001, he was invited to the newly formed department of art at Qing Hua University as a guest professor and Phd supervisor (the contract with Qing Hua ended in 2004).
