Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The square bifrustum or square truncated bipyramid is the second in an infinite series of bifrustum polyhedra. It has 4 trapezoid and 2 square faces. This polyhedron can be constructed by taking a square dipyramid (octahedron) and truncating the polar axis vertices, making is into two end-to-end frustums. An n-gonal bipyramid or dipyramid is a polyhedron formed by joining an n-gonal pyramid and its mirror image base-to-base. The referenced n-gon in the name of the bipyramids is not an external face but an internal one, existing on the primary symmetry plane which connects the two pyramid halves. The face-transitive bipyramids are the dual polyhedra of the uniform prisms and will generally have isosceles triangle faces.
