Omupo or Omu-ipo is an ancient town in Igbomina-Yoruba land of Kwara State. It is one of the prominent towns in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State. It is situated in the northeastern part of Yoruba land in northcentral Nigeria. It is the headquarters of 34 communities of Omupo District, the headquarters of Omupo/Idofian Area Council of Ifelodun Local Government Area and also an Electoral Constituency (i.e. Omupo Constituency) since 1979 for the purpose of election into the Kwara State House of Assembly. Omupo is located at 8°16′00″N 4°48′00″E / 8.2667°N 4.8000°E / 8.2667; 4.8000. It is 191 miles (308km) southwest of Abuja, 24 miles (38km) southeast of Ilorin, 3 miles (4.8km) northwest of Ajasse Ipo, 10 miles (15.9km) northeast of Offa, 138 miles (222km) northeast of Ibadan and 217 miles (350km) northeast of Lagos.
