Hewa Bora Airways is an airline based in Barumbu, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is one of Congo's largest airlines and operates regional and domestic services. Its main base is Kinshasa International Airport. "Hewa Bora" is Swahili for "Fresh Air". The company is on the European Commission's list of airlines banned within the European Union. Hewa Bora Airways has 1,100 employees (at March 2007). As of 16 July 2011, the airline's Air Operator's Certificate has been suspended, following the accident that befell Flight 952 on 8 July 2011.
