Steve Carlyle (born March 10, 1950 in Lacombe, Alberta and raised in Edmonton, Alberta) is a former professional ice hockey defenceman and current coach. He was selected in the third round of the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft, 31st overall, by the Montreal Canadiens, but never played in the NHL. Carlyle did, however, play four seasons with the Edmonton Oilers of the WHA, including during the league's inaugural year.
