Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Cougar Reservoir (also known as Cougar Lake) is a reservoir on the South Fork McKenzie River in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is located in Lane County. It was created in 1964 with the construction of the hydroelectric Cougar Dam. A reservoir (etymology from French réservoir a "storehouse) or an artificial lake is used to store water. Reservoirs may be created in river valleys by the construction of a dam or may be built by excavation in the ground or by conventional construction techniques such as brickwork or cast concrete.
