Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. There have been two Baronetcies created for persons with the surname Buchanan, both in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. The Buchanan Baronetcy, of Dunburgh in the County of Stirling, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 14 December 1878 for the diplomat Andrew Buchanan. He was British Ambassador to Russia from 1864 to 1867 and to Austria from 1871 to 1878. His eldest son, the second Baronet, died childless in 1901. He was succeeded by his younger brother, the third Baronet. His son, the fourth Baronet, was a Justice of the Peace, Deputy Lieutenant and High Sheriff for Nottinghamshire.
