Vladimir Nikolayevich Myasishchev (10 July 1893 – 04 October 1973) was a famous Soviet psychologist and developmental psychologist. Myasishchev was born in Latvia, in judge family. He studied at Saint Petersburg Psychoneurological Institute (graduated in 1919). Director of the Psychoneurological Institute in 1939-1961. In 1944-1973 professor of Leningrad [Saint Petersburg]University, where he was instrumental in establishing the Faculty of Psychology. Follower of the traditions of V. Bekhterev's school.
