Anotações e citações/ texto breve:
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Sergei Konstantinovich Gershelman (26 June 1854 - 17 October 1910), last name also spelled Hershelman, was a Russian general, who fought in the Russo-Japanese War and served as the Governor-General of Moscow. Although it has been claimed, even by the famous Sergei Witte, that Gershelman's ancestors were baptized Jews, they were actually of German extraction. Gershlman's great-grandfather, Ernst August Wilhelm Hoerschelmann von Epichnellen, migrated from Thuringia to Revel (today's Tallinn). Ernst's son (and Sergei's grandfather), Ivan, served as the castellan of Paul I's palace in Peterhof, while Ivan's son (and Sergei's father) Konstantin Ivanovich Gershelman was a general in the Russian Army.
