Roman Popadiuk served as the United States Ambassador to Ukraine under George H.W. Bush, from 1992 to 1993. Since 1999, he has served as the Executive Director of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Roman Popadiuk was born in Austria on May 30, 1950. He received a B.A. from Hunter College in 1973, and a PhD from CUNY Graduate Center in 1981. He then taught Political Science at Brooklyn College in New York City.He joined the United States Foreign Service in 1981. From 1982 to 1984, he worked as a diplomat in Mexico City. From 1984 to 1986, he worked in the Department of State and in the National Security Council.
