Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Cia-Cia language, also known as South Buton, is an Austronesian language spoken principally around the town of Bau-Bau on the southern tip of Buton Island off the southeast coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia. In 2009, the language gained international media attention as the town of Bau-Bau was teaching children to read and write Cia-Cia in Korean Hangul, and the mayor consulted with the Indonesian government on the possibility of making the writing system official.
