Blurb/Shorttext:
According to world health organization (WHO) the Ebola epidemic that occurred in West Africa between 2014 and 2016 killed over 11,000 people out of almost 30,000 that were infected. Although the epidemic is now over, the health systems, economies and peoples of the countries affected are still reeling from its impact. The human and economic costs are enormous and will probably never be fully understood. Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever. Is a severe often fatal illness in humans. The virus is transmitted to people from bats and spreads in the human population through human-human transmission. The average EVD case fatality rate is around 50% although fatality rates have varied from 25-90% in previous outbreaks.
