Due to the increased rate of mortality in children under five years as a result of Preterm Birth in Low resource settings, I carried out a systematic review of diagnostic test accuracy of Last Menstrual Period (LMP) in comparison with Ultrasound to Estimate Gestational Age (EGA) to Predict Preterm Birth (PTB) accurately in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) The aim of comparing both methods was to investigate whether LMP can accurately predict PTB considering ultrasound which is the best method for EGA is often inaccessible. Based on my findings, I discovered that LMP cannot be used therefore further studies are required.
