Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Sergei Odintsov is a Spanish-based Russian physicist currently active in the field of gravitational physics. He works at the Institut de Ciències de l'Espai. Prof. Odintsov contributed with several articles on astrophysical and cosmological consequences of long-range modified models of gravity. In particular, he addressed the problem of the cosmic acceleration within this context. Gravitation, or gravity, is a natural phenomenon by which physical bodies attract with a force proportional to their mass. Gravitation is most familiar as the agent that gives weight to objects with mass and causes them to fall to the ground when dropped. Gravitation causes dispersed matter to coalesce, and coalesced matter to remain intact, thus accounting for the existence of the Earth, the Sun, and most of the macroscopic objects in the universe.
