Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. INS Mysore was a Crown Colony class cruiser commissioned in the Indian Navy in 1957. The ship previously served in World War II with the Royal Navy as HMS Nigeria. Mysore was the second cruiser to be purchased by India. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy in August 1957. The crest for Mysore depicted the mytholigical double-headed eagle Gandaberunda from the coat of arms of the former Mysore state. The ship's motto Na bibheti kadachana was taken from the Taittiriya Upanishad.
