Social changes in the rural communities over the years have stimulated rural-urban migration in search of employment and better life. This movement led to population explosion in the urban centers, lack of employment and growth of slums. The Church in the urban is faced with the challenge of unemployment, poverty, diseases, violence, family breakdown, and crime. Many children have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, divorce, violence and crime. Due to their unmet needs, these children are vulnerable and become victims of sexual abuse, prostitution, drugs and crime for survival. The church has the mandate to provide holistic ministry to these children, hence this book is designed to provide a working tool for the pastors and other church leaders to enable them to facilitate holistic ministry to these children. Their future depends on what they are presently equipping them to be. The opportunities they provide them, the experiences and examples are what is going to make a difference in their future lives and therefore that of the community.
