Zaozyorsk formerly called Murmansk-150 is a closed town in Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Population: 11,206; 12,687. Zaozyorsk was originally formed in 1958 to serve as a base for a nuclear underwater fleet that was to protect Soviet's northern sea border. The base was renamed Zapadnaya Litsa in 1959. Administratively, it is incorporated as the closed administrative-territorial formation of Zaozyorsk—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts. Municipally, the closed administrative-territorial formation of Zaozyorsk is incorporated as Zaozyorsk Urban Okrug.
