The Wayan Formation is a geological formation in Idaho whose strata date back to the earliest Late Cretaceous. Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.The Wayan occurs in eastern Idaho. Sediments are dominantly floodplain mudstones (some pedogenic) with some fluvial sandstones and minor conglomerates, limestones, and tuffs. Carbonate nodules in pedogenic mudstones suggest a semi-arid, seasonal climate during deposition. Radiometric U-Pb dates from detrital zircons indicate an early to middle Cenomanian age.
