Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A constitutional referendum was held in Senegal on 28 September 1958. The vote on the new constitution would see the country become part of the new French Community if accepted, or result in independence if rejected. It was approved by 97.6% of voters, with an 80.7% turnout. The fourth Constitution of Senegal (Constitution de la République du Sénégal) was adopted in a 2001 referendum. The country has had three other constitutions before: in 1959, 1960 and in 1963.
