This book covers some technical parts of satellite gravity gradiometry and it is intended to serve as a textbook for advanced graduate students in geosciences such as geodesy, geophysics and other disciplines related to the Earth’s gravity field. The book consists of non-singular expressions for the gravity gradients, equation of motion of a satellite and tensor spherical harmonics; the topographic effect based on constant and laterally varying topographic densities; the atmospheric effect based on different analytical density models; validation of the satellite gravity gradiometric data using gravity anomaly at sea level and least-squares modification of the second-order partial derivatives of the extended Stokes formula, downward continuation of the satellite data, combination of the gravity gradients for global and local gravity field determination using variance component estimation and gravity field determination in polar gaps from satellite gravity gradiometric data.
