Rohini series is a series of sounding rockets developed by ISRO for meteorological and atmospheric study purposes. The rockets in this series are named RH an abbreviation of rohini, followed by a numeral indicating its diameter. India currently operates four versions of the Rohini sounding rocket: the RH-200, the RH-300, the RH-300 Mk II and the RH-560 Mk II .RH200 and RH560 are two stage rockets while RH300 is a single stage rocket. Three of them use solid propellants. RH560 Mk II can carry a payload of 100 Kg to an altitude of about 400 Km.This is first Indian sounding rocket to be launched from TERLS. It was launched on November 20, 1967. It weighed 32 kg,and had a diameter of 75 mm. It flew between 15 times November 1967 - September 1968.
