Lino Barañao (born in 1955) is an Argentine chemist and politician, currently Minister of Science, Technology and Innovative Production under President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.Barañao was born in Argentina in 1955 and enrolled at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in 1973, where he graduated with high honors in 1976 with a degree in Chemistry. Specializing in biological chemistry, he earned a Doctorate at the University's School of Exact and Natural Sciences in 1980 and received the National Medical Academy's recognition for his research into hormonal roles in diabetes.
