Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Squaw Ridge lava field, also known as the East lava field, is a young basaltic field located in the U.S. state of Oregon southeast of Newberry Volcano. Newberry Volcano (with Newberry Caldera) is a large potentially active shield volcano located 40 miles (64 km) east of the Cascade Range and about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Bend, Oregon. It is not a typical shield volcano. In addition to erupting basaltic lavas, it also has erupted andesitic and even rhyolitic lava.
