Shree Shankar Sharan was an Indian social activist and a retired Indian Administrative Service officer. He belonged to the 1955 Bihar cadre. Affectionately called Sri Ji ,he was also the Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Sri Ji belonged to a well connected family. He was born in Patna to eminent nationalist Shambhu Sharan Verma who worked with his close colleagues Dr.Rajendra Prasad & Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha in the Gandhian Satyagraha movement in Bihar and his mother Sundari Devi has been a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly for 18 years.
