Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A Galileo thermometer (or Galilean thermometer), named after Italian physicist Galileo Galilei (but not invented by him)[1], is a thermometer made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid and a series of objects whose densities are such that they rise or fall as the temperature changes. It first appeared in the 1990's on sale from the Natural History Museum, London. Suspended in the liquid inside the cylinder are a number of weights.
