The growth of population along with new technological developments and unchecked industrialization, have upset the delicate balance of nature. In thickly populated cities like Tirupati, this problem has further aggravated by a high density of population, massive industrialization and consequent problems of urban planning. All these leads to “Environmental Degradation”. “ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION” means lowering of environmental quality at local, regional, and global scales by both Natural Processes and Human Activities. For example volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, submergence and emergence, faulting, atmospheric storms like cyclones, forest fires, atmospheric lightning, hailstorms, excessive snowfalls, geological erosion, landslides and avalanches etc. are the natural factors which cause destabilization of ecosystem and thus cause environmental degradation.
