Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Stedham is a village in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. It lies within the civil parish of Stedham with Iping, on the A272 road 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of Midhurst. St James’ Church is situated at the north end of the village just above the River Rother. The original church was built circa 1040, however not much of this is left. The upper parts of the church are dated circa 1673. The church is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The churchyard contains a yew tree which is thought to be over 2500 years old. Stedham's watermill at the north end of the village was used for manufacturing blotting paper.
