Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Rhynchospora alba, the white beak-sedge, is a plant in the sedge family, Cyperaceae. It is a tufted herbaceous perennial plant found in fairly acidic wetlands which have few plant nutrients. In North America, it is widely distributed throughout the eastern United States, along the west coast, and across Canada. It is also found widely in Europe, including the British Isles. Cyperaceae is a family of monocotyledonous flowering plants known as sedges, which superficially resemble grasses or rushes. The family is large, with some 5,500 species described in about 109 genera (Govaerts et al., 2007).
