Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The March 2007 Sumatra earthquakes were two earthquakes which hit near the northern end of Lake Singkarak in Sumatra, Indonesia, on March 6, 2007 within two hours of each other. The initial quake at 10:49 (03:49 UTC) measured 6.4 on the Moment magnitude scale and the second quake at 12:49 (05:49 UTC) measured 6.3. The earthquakes were felt as far away as Singapore and Malaysia, which prompted the evacuation of some buildings there.
