Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Almost Gold Recordings is an independent record label. It was originally founded in 2007 in New York City by Scott Rodger of Quest Management with distribution in North America through Columbia Records. The first release on Almost Gold was the Peter Bjorn and John album Writer's Block, on February 6, 2007. Almost Gold is now fully independent in North America having severed ties with Columbia Records. Since its founding, Alligator Records has released over 250 blues and blues/rock albums, as well as a now-defunct reggae series. Present Alligator artists include Marcia Ball, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials, Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Roomful of Blues, Eric Lindell, JJ Grey & Mofro, Lee Rocker, Cephas & Wiggins, and Michael Burks.
