Ajahn Sundara ist eine buddhistische Nonne in der thailändischen Waldtradition von Ajahn Chah. Sie ist in Frankreich geboren und aufgewachsen und hat dort und dann später auch in England Tanz studiert. 1979 trat sie als Samaneri in den Orden ein, indem sie acht Gelübde nahm, und wurde so gemeinsam mit drei anderen Frauen zur Begründerin des Nonnenordens in der Waldtradition. Nachdem Ajahn Sumedho von den Ordensoberen in Thailand grünes Licht erhalten hatte, konnte Sundara 1983 'Pabbajja' erhalten und so als Siladhara in die „Hauslosigkeit“ gehen.
