Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Ratasa is a genus of snout moths. It was described by Herrich-Schäffer in 1849. It contains only one species, Ratasa alienalis, which is found in Russia. The Pyralidae or snout moths are a family of Lepidoptera in the ditrysian superfamily Pyraloidea. In many (particularly older) classifications, the grass moths (Crambidae) are included in the Pyralidae as a subfamily, making the combined group one of the largest families in the Lepidoptera. The latest review by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999) retains the Crambidae as a full family of pyraloidea.
