Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Oskar Herman (1886–1974) was a Croatian Jewish painter. He was one of the group of Croatian artists known as the Munich Circle, who had a strong influence on modern art in Croatia. Herman completed business school in Zagreb and spent a year studying at the painting school of K. Filipa. In 1904 he went to Munich, where he studied at the school of the Slovene painter and teacher Anton Ažbe, and at the prestigious Academy of Arts until 1910. There, Oskar Herman, along with Josip Račić, Vladimir Becić and Miroslav Kraljević formed the group then known as Die Kroatishe Schule (the Croatian School).
