In the present work, quantum phosphors, such as, CdSe-CdS core shell QDs nano phosphor particles, CdSe-CdS dot-in-rod and Seeded CdSe-CdS QDs rods were synthesized using the hot injection technique. These are coated on the surface of the naturally conducting MP fiber by chemical dipping method. Mimosa pudica (MP) fiber is a naturally available conducting fiber with mild photo-luminescence capacity due to the presence of elemental selenium (Se) in it. The coated fibers are treated as X-ray sensing films, and thus demonstrate a new technique to increase X-ray attenuation using high density nanoparticles. Conventional polymer based active layers with low detection efficiency for X-ray detection, QD coated natural MP fibers have been proposed as potential solution to increase X-ray attenuation and hence better detection efficiency. Systematic presentation of results of a study through quantum phosphor coating on the organic conducting polymer (MP fiber) for increased photoluminescence potential of MP fiber for sensing applications is the key point in this work. The work deals with the detailed experimental characterization of conducting polymer fiber and its modification with photo luminescence.
